The Third Doorway to Somatic Flow is Curiosity over Correction

Instead of approaching your body with a list of things to fix, allow yourself to experience it with the same wonder a child brings to exploring a garden. Correction is a posture of judgment: this is misaligned, this is tight, this is weak, this needs fixing. Curiosity is a posture of inquiry: what is this? what does this want? what happens if I do this?  The body responds very differently to these two postures. Tissue that is approached with judgment tends to guard. Tissue that is approached with curiosity tends to soften and reveal itself. This nurturing quality of curiosity nourishes, cleanses, and transforms your energy. It is not that correction never has a place. It is simply a different approach, because allowing curiosity to come first, leads us toward self-improvement rather than self-criticism. Correction may seem productive because it promises a fix, and fixes feel like progress. Physical therapy, fitness culture, and even well-meaning wellness advice often frame the body as a set of problems awaiting solutions: rounded shoulders to pull back, weak glutes to strengthen, tight hips to open. None of this is wrong, but when correction becomes the primary lens, the body is perpetually a draft awaiting revision. Open into curiosity and the path shall be revealed.
